Here are the resources you need to get the domain you want.
1. Search for a new domain name
Go to and use their search box to check that the domain name you want is available. Remember that .net, .org, .info and many more suffixes are available in addition to .com.
Or, you can use this box to check if the domain name you want is available (this takes you to the Godaddy site).
2. Checking the domain names for sale in the domain name aftermarket
Go to the
page at Godaddy to sign up and start browsing the already registered but available names you can buy, or bid for in their auctions. There is a small fee for this.
